You conjure forth a ghostly thrall that isn't easily slain. You create a thrall within range, and you can create it in a space occupied by a creature. Unlike other thralls, the nightmare can share its space with other creatures, and other creatures can move through its space with ease. If this thrall is summoned into or ends its movement in a creature's space, the creature must succeed at a Will saving throw or become Frightened 1 (or Frightened 2 on a critical failure); this is an emotion, fear, and mental effect.

The thrall has a fly Speed of 60 feet and remains airborne at the end of your turn even if it didn't Fly that turn. Any ability you use that would make the thrall Stride allows it to Fly instead.

The thrall's Strikes deal void damage and must target a creature in the thrall's space. When you use thrall charge to order this thrall to make a Strike, that Strike deals an additional 2d6 damage.

If the thrall has been destroyed, you can Sustain this spell to resummon the thrall. You can do this only once per round.

Heightened (8th) The additional damage increases to 3d6.
