This +2 greater resilient greater electricity-resistant chain mail is adorned with two golden thunderbolts, one along each forearm. Even on a seemingly cloudless day, you can raise your arms to the heavens and draw down a bolt of lightning upon yourself, empowering your armor and blasting your enemies.

Effect You conjure a bolt of electricity down onto yourself, dealing 6d6 electricity damage to all creatures in a 10-foot type:emanation. Additionally, for the next minute, whenever a creature touches you or hits you with a melee unarmed attack or a non-reach melee weapon attack, it takes 1d8 electricity damage.


Trait Effects

Flexible: The armor is pliable and doesn’t hinder most actions. You don’t apply its check penalty to Acrobatics or Athletics checks.

Invested: A character can invest only 10 magical items that have the invested trait. None of the magical effects of the item apply if the character hasn’t invested it, nor can it be activated, though the character still gains any normal benefits from wearing the physical item (like a hat keeping rain off their head).

Magical: Something with the magical trait is imbued with magical energies not tied to a specific tradition of magic. Some items or effects are closely tied to a particular tradition of magic. In these cases, the item has the arcane, divine, occult, or primal trait instead of the magical trait. Any of these traits indicate that the item is magical.

Noisy: This armor is loud and likely to alert others to your presence. The armor’s check penalty applies to Stealth checks even if you have the required Strength modifier.


Armor Specialisation Effects

The overlapping rings of chain are designed to deflect piercing attacks and reduce the impact of crushing blows.

Medium Armor: When you take damage from a critical hit, reduce the extra damage by 4 + the value of the armor's potency rune. This is the damage beyond the base damage, as determined on a success.
