About PathDB

PathDB is a free, searchable Pathfinder Second Edition database. Every spell, feat, item, creature, and rules entry on this site is generated directly from the data files of the Foundry VTT PF2e system, the same open-source dataset that powers Pathfinder games on Foundry Virtual Tabletop. If it is current at the virtual table, it is current here.

Where the data comes from

We sync with the Foundry VTT PF2e repository regularly, pulling in new releases, errata, and newly published books as the maintainers add them. The version we are currently serving, along with a changelog of recent syncs and site features, lives on the updates page. Formulas that depend on a character sheet (damage that scales with level, for example) are shown at their baseline values, so what you read is what an unmodified character gets.

Remaster and legacy content

Pathfinder's core rules were reissued from 2023 onwards as the Remaster (Player Core, GM Core, Monster Core). PathDB serves the current rules: where the Remaster reprinted something, that is the version you see, and the upstream Foundry data removes superseded printings entirely. Content from books that have not been remastered, such as much of the Lost Omens line, remains fully available and is marked with a Legacy badge in its page properties. Legacy here means "published before the Remaster", not "out of date" - it is still current, playable material.
