Aeon armor is a magically enhanced suit of Ceramic Plate armor decorated in colors of green and gold and bearing the Eye of Aroden on the breastplate. A suit of aeon armor can be further enhanced by armor runes, but the suits worn by lower-ranking knights typically lack such enhancements.

An indentation in the middle of the Eye of Aroden that decorates the breastplate of a suit of aeon armor can hold a single aeon stone. Placing an aeon stone in this indentation provides you with all the benefits of having the aeon stone orbit your head, but it protects the stone from being noticed or stolen as easily. You invest aeon armor and the aeon stone within it simultaneously, and they count as only one item toward your investiture limit. An invested aeon stone slotted in aeon armor also grants its resonant power.

If you have more than one item with an invested aeon stone (such as if you carry a wayfinder with an invested aeon stone), destructive interference from their resonance prevents you from gaining benefits from any of them. You can still benefit from additional aeon stones orbiting your head, just not those fitted into aeon armor, wayfinders, or similar items.

Trait Effects

Adjusted: The equipment comes with an adjustment described in its entry. This adjustment is built into the equipment permanently, meaning the equipment can't have another adjustment added, nor can it be swapped out for a different adjustment. If the adjustment alters the item's base statistics, such as adding the noisy trait, that's reflected in the equipment's table entry.

Invested: A character can invest only 10 magical items that have the invested trait. None of the magical effects of the item apply if the character hasn’t invested it, nor can it be activated, though the character still gains any normal benefits from wearing the physical item (like a hat keeping rain off their head).

Magical: Something with the magical trait is imbued with magical energies not tied to a specific tradition of magic. Some items or effects are closely tied to a particular tradition of magic. In these cases, the item has the arcane, divine, occult, or primal trait instead of the magical trait. Any of these traits indicate that the item is magical.

Noisy: This armor is loud and likely to alert others to your presence. The armor’s check penalty applies to Stealth checks even if you have the required Strength modifier.

Armor Specialisation Effects

The sturdy plate provides no purchase for a cutting edge.

Medium Armor: You gain resistance to slashing damage equal to 1 + the value of the armor's potency rune.
