Activate 1 (manipulate)

This gingerbread biscuit is stamped in the shape of a menacing witch, her features decorated with anise and fennel seeds. When you eat the biscuit, its sharp spices warm your body for 10 minutes, granting you a +1 status bonus Perception checks to pierce a hag's disguise, to skill checks to Recall Knowledge about hags, and to saving throws made against hags' abilities and spells. During this time, weapons you wield count as cold iron for any physical attacks made against hags.

The biscuit tastes especially bitter to hags, changelings, and other hag-related creatures (such as a sorcerer with the hag bloodline). If such a creature attempts to eat the biscuit, they must succeed at a DC 18 Fortitude save or it fails and wastes the action (and is Sickened 1 on a critical failure).

Trait Effects

Alchemical: Alchemical items are powered by reactions of alchemical reagents. Unless otherwise noted, alchemical items aren’t magical and don’t radiate a magical aura. Alchemical creatures are partially powered by alchemical reactions.

Consumable: An item with this trait can be used only once. Unless stated otherwise, it’s destroyed after activation. Consumable items include alchemical items and magical consumables such as scrolls and talismans. A character can Craft consumable items in batches of four.

Processed: An alchemical consumable with the processed trait can be created with Quick Alchemy but is too complex to create in a single action. Using Quick Alchemy to create a processed item takes 1 minute. If the item would take more than 3 actions to Activate, the time the item remains potent after you create it is equal to its activation time. For instance, a processed item that takes 10 minutes to Activate would remain potent for 10 minutes when created with Quick Alchemy instead of remaining potent only until the start of your next turn. This trait doesn't change other specifics of Quick Alchemy. You could, for example, use double brew to create two of the same processed item over the course of 1 minute.
