Item: Graverose Garland

This long, scarf-like garment appears to be made of living vines on which a dozen black roses bloom. While the vines appear to be thorny, they lack the capability to puncture or scratch, allowing the garland to be worn comfortably as a scarf or belt. The scent of the black roses evokes faint feelings of melancholy and nostalgia to the living, but undead find the odor to be unnerving and distracting. As long as you have a graverose garland invested, it grants a +1 item bonus to Deception and Intimidation checks against undead.

Effect You lift some of the garland to your lips and blow, sending the scent of the black roses outward to target an undead creature you can see within 60 feet. The targeted undead becomes filled with the conviction that it belongs in its grave, and it must attempt a DC 19 Will save against the following effects.

Critical Success The undead creature is unaffected.

Success The undead creature becomes Off Guard until the start of your next turn.

Failure The undead creature becomes Frightened 2 and is off-guard as long as it remains frightened.

Critical Failure As failure, but Frightened 3, and the undead is also Fleeing as long as it remains frightened. If the undead knows of a nearby empty grave, it must flee toward that grave—if it enters the grave, it drops Prone into the grave and remains prone until it is no longer frightened.
